Skidaway Island Kiwanis Club Supports MMI for Fourth Consecutive Year
Daniel Umbel, president of the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island, with Dr. Elizabeth Jacobi, founder and director of the Music Medicine Institute. In October the Kiwanians presented MMI with a check for $1,000, marking the fourth consecutive year the club has helped the Institute pursue its expanding mission.
"The goals of Music Medicine Institute and Kiwanis are very similar in that we want to serve children and families who are in need," said Mr. Umbel of his organization's gift. "Through Dr. Jacobi’s leadership of MMI, our community, especially our military children and families, are able to better cope with the stresses of deployment through Music therapy. This is a wonderful organization and we are proud to be involved."
"We are extremely grateful for the loyal and important support of the Skidaway Island Kiwanis Club and its members, said Dr. Jacobi in accepting the donation. "They have been wonderful partners with MMI and we value our relationship with them."
